The Cadillac 452 V16 is an American car that was built in Detroit, Michigan from 1930 to 1937. It was the top model of General Motors and just over 4000 examples were built. Car sales suffered greatly from the Great Depression in America.

The (Y34-1) 1933 Cadillac 452 V16 joined the range in 1990.
The first colour scheme was a navy blue body and wings with a cream or white plastic roof.
It had Macau and Y34 on the chrome plastic baseplate.
In 1992 it was replaced by the second colour scheme. It was painted white with a navy blue baseplate and it was fitted with black plastic seats, steering wheel and roof.
It had a 'Made in China' baseplate with "YY46,Y61" inscribed on it as the component was used on this model and the Y61 Cadillac fire engine.
The YY46 refered to this model which was originally going to be the number YY46 but for reasons unknown it was later decided that it should be number Y34 but an examination of the inside of the clear plastic window unit will reveal that it also had a Y46 inscribed on the inside.

Variations/Rarities: The roof of the first version is cream plastic but white plastic roofs are also available but are more difficult to find.
On the second version silver trim was applied to the body line, door handles, sidelights and roof tensioners.
On both versions the tail lights were picked out in red.
There are no rarities to look out for in either version.

Issue 1 was also released in the white P-type box as part of the "Great Motor Cars of the Century" series.

The white bodied model was also re-run as part of the "Grand Classics Collection" promotion launched in 1994 by Matchbox Collectibles.
